Think of jazz musicians …

… If one member veers off in improvisation, the others are able to follow

… If a singer would rather sing in the key of A than the original G, they can all switch in an instant

… they are able to improvise during a performance. They are in sync with their fellow band members. They all share a common ground; they share the same set of rules.

The band shares an understanding of where to go and what the songs should sound like – they are aligned with each other, and with the task of performing sweet music.
